The advantage of buying coverage on line is the cost is usually much less. The reason for this is there are a lot of on line brokers and there overhead is far less then the auto dealers. The auto dealer will sometime tell you they don’t work on vehicle that don’t have there coverage they sell, this is not the truth. In most cases the coverage is the same and the only Difference is the dealer mark up the dealer charges. When you are looking for an auto warranties you must make sure the shop you plan to take your vehicle to for repairs will do work on it with the policies you have purchased. Always make sure the shop replaces
the parts with factory parts and the extended warranties you have purchased pays for factory parts. The administrator does have the choice to have the shop use non factory parts.

Where to take my vehicle for repairs:
Your choice would be to take your car or truck to the new car dealership to have work done. Most new car dealerships will accept payment, the choice is theirs. The worst case would be you can pay for the repairs, you must call you administrator and fax them a copy of the repair order and have the Administrator pay you direct after you pay for the shop for the work that has been done. Always make sure your coverage covers parts and labor, this is a must and also make sure they provide you with a rental car when your car or truck in the shop for repairs.

When shopping for an auto warranties:

You also want to make sure your coverage is transferable. If you sell the car or truck before the auto warranties has run out you want to make sure you have the right to transfer the remainder of it to whom you sell the car or truck to. Most policies have a $50.00 Transfer fee, but you must call the administrator and transfer the coverage at time of sale.

The transfer clause does add value to your car or truck. In most cases the person you sell your car or truck to can not replace the auto warranty coverage because the vehicle is too old or the miles are now too high.

In most cases the coverage does add 10% to 20% to the value of the vehicle.

Always remember the best time to buy an auto warranties is at time of purchase or before the vehicle has less then 36,000 miles because

The cost is much less and most warranties brokers have a 12 or 24 month interest free finance plan.
